25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS HORROR DAY X1

I was kind of late to the party arriving to Hulu's Into The Dark. A surprisingly good horror anthology series that arrives every month with a full length movie episode inspired by a holiday. I've seen a few at this point and have enjoyed them all, the body, down, treehouse, new year new you, etc. I've only encountered one dud which was the creative by uninspired Pooka! last years Xmas addition. That's why I'm so happy they've blessed us with this entertaining little horror comedy filled with festive joy!

INTO THE DARK: NASTY LITTLE PIECE OF WORK

90 Mins. Molly Hagan, Natalie Hall, Kyle Howard, Dustin Milligan and Julian Sands star. Written by Paul Soter (Super Troopers) Directed by  Charles Hood (Night Owls) N/R contains language, violence and gore.

Into the Dark's Christmas episode centers around a frustrated young man whom discovers he's not getting a bonus from his rich, douche boss. Instead while at the office Christmas party he gets an invite from the boss along with another employee. He of course decides to attend as it promises that one of them will be promoted. A very dark game ensues, full of lies, treachery and murder. The hijinks are fun and the movie is quite entertaining. There's lots of dark humor afoot relatable to anyone whose had an "off the wall" boss. The movie ends up being a mixture of you're next, ready or not and mixed with a wall street vibe.

If I said anymore I'd be giving too much away. It's all quite goofy and clever and written by the guy who did Super Troopers. All though the movie never quite gets as horrific as I'd like and veers away from the gore drenched audacities of Cheap Thrills. It all works on a moderate level and executes it all while maintaining a light hearted vibe. the performances are pretty good across the board the gorgeous, ageless Julian Sands (Warlock) is in fine form and sexy Dustin Milligan are stand outs. And I just loved the bit with the wheelchair. You'll know what I'm talking about when it comes. Now it's not flawless it definitely feels mostly low budget and there are some amateur, questionable decisions but mostly it's just a lot of fun!

RATING= 7 KILLER SANTAS OUT OF 10
