This brutal little slasher flick about a group of boy scouts being hunted by a vicious killer skated by under the radar for most this year. But I'm here to tell you it would be a perfect watch this Halloween season especially for those itching for a horror movie starring kids that doesn't pussie out on the real shit!

From the director of the awesome Texas Chainsaw remake and the horrid Friday the 13th remake comes a possession flick you've never seen before. Set in a old mental institution with a group of hard partying drug ridden teens. It gets to the gruesome goods pretty quick and keeps the fun coming. Sure there are more than a few hokey moments but for entertainment value and kick ass practical effects alone Exeter is one you shouldn't miss!

Now I know this poster has probably got you rolling your eyes. But truth be told we haven't had a good animal gone wild flick in a while and this movie is surprisingly good. It's a basic premise people vs. a giant, bloodthirsty grizzly. There's not much more than that and to tell you the truth you don't really need much more in a flick lie this. Still the performances are solid across the board and although the effects can be a bit unintentionally goofy in places the tension and suspense keep you on the edge of your seat!

Although it might appear as just another zombie apocalypse movie Extinction puts a fresh spin on the base material. Focusing on more of an intimate portrayal of a group of 3 survivors two men and a young girl. the film works more as a character piece. But when the monsters finally do show up they are super creepy as they have evolved way beyond the initial wave to becomes something more deadly.

I'm not sure I consider this film a straight up horror movie. Actually it's really it's own thing altogether and it's pretty kick ass. Abigail Breslin stars as a young woman raised from when she was little by a man to kill serial killers. The performances are solid and the film is loaded with beautiful cinematography and some inspired darkly surreal moments. I would have hoped for a bit more gore but i definitely found myself clapping dorkily at home. Sexy Alexander Ludwig and Sexy Wes Bentley show up with some solid support.

So i haven't seen this yet but the buzz is astounding. And if you've watched the trailer you know this film is bat shit crazy. Basically it's heavy metal and a whole bunch of crazy evil dead zombie shit with lots of gore and on spot humor. How can it go wrong? The film hits theaters and VOD in October.

Available on Netflix streaming is this bizarre disturbing black comic tale of a man hired to make a documentary for a dying man. I can't even begin to tell you how uncomfortable this movie is or how suspenseful it gets. But creep is definitely the right title. It leaves an impression that you won't soon forget and features a soon to be iconic performance from usually funny guy Mark Duplass.

How fun is this poster and the trailers look even better. It's R rated horror comedy about a bunch of virgin boy scouts fighting through a zombie apocalypse. The trailer is wild with some instantly memorable one liners and zombie titties and Kitties.

So awesome it's hard to put into words. basically a bunch of really funny comedians cast as elementary school teachers have to battle it out against some ferocious students who have mutated due to a toxic strain of chicken nuggets. The Laughs are a mile a minute and the movie is jam packed with gore and a few shocks. Destined to become a cult classic.

This one is a bit older from last year but if you haven't seen it rush out right now! It's basically a relity show/ faux documentary about a couple of vampires from different time periods who are roommates. it may not sound funny but the film has already garnered a cult status and it's well deserved!

Normally PG-13 horror films usually have me running in the opposite direction. But the buzz is solid and the trailer is undeniable. Final Girls looks to be a Meta, Mega Fun horror comedy mashup we've been dying for. The film centers on a group of teens attending a screening of an retro 80's slasher flick in the vein of F13. When a freak accident send them spiraling through the screen and into the movie. Laughs, bloody carnage, bad dialogue and cliches are abound as well as trippy flashback sequences and a surprising amount of heart. All sound a little soft for you well trust me check out the trailer and you'll see why I'm so excited! Plus if the movie is half as clever and entertaining as the trailer t will be an absolute blast! Stars Taissa Farminga (AHS), handsome Alexander Ludwig (Hunger Games), Malin Ackerman (Heartbreak Kid) Nina Dobrev (vampire Diaries) and more.

Guilermo Del Toro's highly anticipated return to the genre with what what looks to be his epic gothic horror masterpiece. Showing in IMAX 3D!. The set design and cinematography look glorious. As do the performances from Mia Wasachowski, Tom Middleton and an especially creepy Jessica Chastain. It's rated R and from what I'm hearing will be the horror event of the year!
I liked Creep and What We Do in the Shadows. Excited for Final Girls and Crimson Peak and the next/final (?) Paranormal Activity movie.
