A young woman (Potente) finds herself trapped in the London subway after falling asleep on the platform. While trying to get out she finds herself being hunted by a disfigured humanoid in search of his next victim. If I was making movies this would be the kind of movie I would make. You take a simplistic concept beef it up with a little back story. Take a strong actress and have her face off against someone or something in an isolated environment. But Creep doesn't just stop there Smith has something to say. It's a subtle but effective social commentary on the division of classes and how we view each one glazing the surface of a brutal, intense, relentless horror film. All of the people associated with this project went on to have solid careers. Franka Potente of Run Lola Run fame starred in the hit horror thriller Anatomy, The Bourne Identity films as Damon's love interest and most recently American Horror Story. Christopher Smith went on to direct the hilarious horror comedy Severance, the little horror gem The Triangle and Blac death as well as a few others still lining up and most notably is Sean Harris, so effective as the film's villiain. Most recently he appeared as the villain in the summer blockbuster Mission Impossible Rogue Nation,He'll be in this winter's highly anticipated Macbeth starring along side fellow ginger Michael Fassbender and has also starred in Prometheus, Deliver us from evil and 71. The Direction from Smith is impressive in the way that he conveys the horror of the situation but always stops to develop characters and not let the smaller moments pass by. The performances from Potente as the complex heroine and especially Harris as the film's would be villain. Despite his horrifying appearance and actions he still manages to add a level of vulnerability to the character making you feel sorry for him.  Creep never gained the notoriety it deserved but there's no time like the present to discover this edge of your seat horror flick you won't soon forget! ****.25
