Not to be confused with Final Girls hitting theaters/ VOD later this month. This Horror/ Action/Thriller is a bit more straight forward in what ind of movie it is and not as ambitious. The film centers around a young girl who is adopted by a strange Man after her parents are murdered by a serial killer. the man trains her to one day avenge their deaths by going after people like the ones who killed her parents. Enter in a group of preppy douche bags who enjoy taking girls out to the woods and hunting them and her target has now been acquired. She of course infiltrates the group and sets herself up as the victim but to their dismay she's not such an easy kill as the hunted becomes the hunter. it's an intriguing concept and executed with a really ambitious visual pizzazz. The film appears timeless borrowing elements from the 1950's rat pack era of sorts. It's a really interesting watch, not very scary but somewhat suspenseful . But the execution is surreal and original making the proceedings feel fresh and new. The only problem is they don't seem to take the concept and it's winning cast to their full potential. That being said the performances are solid across the board especially from Breslin who is kick ass. The sexy Wes Bentley offers some solid support as well as a complex but psychotic and hunky Alexander Ludwig. It doesn't all work but it works well enough that i would say that everyone involved has a future in the genre and I'm excited to see what they do next. ****/5
